Fence Dry provides a variety of services for associated clubs and individuals. The primary services are:
Classification:
Classification
recognizes achievement in competitions over time, and provides an incentive
to participate in competition and to improve one’s skills.
Ranking:
The
Ranking system
reflects a fencer’s current performance against other fencers.
Points in the ranking system can be earned in individual matches
between fencers, internal club competitions, or competitions open to outside
fencers, as long as all participants are Fence Dry associates.
Annual Competitive Points:
Fence Dry conducts an
Annual Point Championships based on individual performance against other
fencers.
Other services include:
Electronic Newsletter
Four Recognized Weapons: Foil, Epee (bouts for either 1 or 5 touches), sabre, and three weapon (foil, one touch epee, and sabre)
Formats for Competitions: Guidelines for conducting individual and team events, with pools, pool unique, single, double, and triple elimination, and with victory decided by score or by indicators.
Individual Match Competition: Individual matches or team matches.
Training: Training programs for judges, directors (referees), and bout committee members in how to run dry competitions.
Piste Designs: Three model piste sizes to allow clubs with limited space to conduct competitions.
Rules: Simple and easy to understand rules for dry competition, consistent with the current rules of the Federation Internationale d'Escrime and the United States Fencing Association.
